Projects of Excellence
In the Native American Studies Master of Arts degree program, students are required to complete a Project of Excellence (POE). The goal of the POE is for the student to demonstrate an accumulation of the theoretical foundation of Native American Studies that can be successfully applied to address a specific topic or issue relevant to a particular Native Nation, community, inter/national audience, group, or organization. Examples of work may include a research paper, community-based project, and/or research service-learning project. The student will work with a core Native American Studies faculty of their choice to determine the outline of their project.
