Sat, Mar 29 2025 9:00am - Sat, Mar 29 2025 1:00pm

Where: Indian Pueblo Cultural Center Pottery Room

The Departments of Native American Studies (NAS), Chicana and Chicano Studies (CCS), Africana Studies (AFST), Women's Studies, and Asian American Studies Collective invite you as a guest at an important townhall to address the U.S. Department of Education (ED) “Dear Colleague” February 14, 2025, letter.

We believe the current U.S. presidential administration’s effort to eliminate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive (DEI) and race-based programs adversely impacts the success of all students’ education at UNM and beyond. Socially and culturally inclusive programs are proven to boost student success and achievement.

We are re-igniting our Ethnic Studies and Community Townhall to hear and support the voices of our Ethnic Studies leaders, students, tribal leaders, elected officials, and allies.

We are accepting your written comments and statements.

The town hall will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 9 am to 1 pm (MT) at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center located at 2401 12th Street NW, Albuquerque, NM.

In addition to your time, we seek donations to cover brunch, space, and technical equipment expenses.

In solidarity,

Dr. Lloyd L. Lee Chair, Native American Studies (NAS)
Dr. Kirsten Pai Buick, Chair, Africana Studies
Dr. Wendy S. Greyeyes, Associate Professor, NAS
Dr. Tiffany S. Lee, Distinguished Professor, NAS
